Today (March 31) marks the official release date of my debut book, “Poems to See By: A Comic Artist Interprets Great poetry.” I’m not sure what a release date means exactly in these strange times, but the book is now available for purchase from Amazon and other sites that offer home book delivery, such as Barnes & Noble, Powell’s Books, etc.
Publishing my own book of comics is something I’ve been chasing after in one form or another all my adult life. I want to thank all those readers of this website who have encouraged me throughout the years, strengthening my resolve in those moments where I got to worrying that I might be frittering away my life in pursuit of childish dreams.
Just got it!!! It is absolutely wonderful! I am so happy your work has finally been turned into a book!
I’ve just spent an hour reading it. The illustrations are gorgeous, and the choice of poems tugs at my heartstrings, from Invictus to When you are old, from The cage bird sings to Musée des Beaux-Arts. A great selection of words beautifully showcased with amazing illustrations. Bravo.

I wouldn’t say ‘childish’ dreams. Maybe at one time they seemed ‘unrealistic,’ or you had them when you were a ‘youth.’ Regardless, I enjoy your work a great deal. I’m glad you pursued it.

Congratulations! Just ordered my copy from Indigo.ca and I’m delighted that you’ve included your wonderful illustration of Heaney’s “The Given Note” – I’ve a printout of that hanging in my hall. You perfectly captured the poem’s mood, its dreaminess.

Thank you Larry! That’s really nice to know. Which illustration in particular is hanging on your wall, out of curiosity?

Oh, goody! I have been awaiting its official release for quite a while! Years, in fact, ever since I discovered your wondrous website. It seemed a pity that you hadn’t yet signed a printed collection of illustrated poems.
I hope I’ll receive mine soon. They were pre-ordered a while ago. But in these troubled times, who knows?
So now, let us await the printing of your next project…

Thank you so much Rebecca! I’m hearing people say they’re being notified it will take about a month to deliver right now. And yes, it’s back to the drawing board now, which is at least one things that is easier to do during these troubled times. You’re only as good as your last project, as they say!

Indeed, I got an email today, 2 days after it came out, to tell me I wouldn’t get it ahead of publication!
I do understand that the circumstances are somewhat perturbed, at present, and look forward to reading your marvelous collection, as soon as I get it!
